At OBD-Chiptuning the original vehicle software is read off the diagnostic interface of the engine controller of the vehicle, is changed accordant at the computer with special programs and is put back in the vehicle controller. At the other alternative, as well often practiced -without the client knowing- the vehicle controller is opened to braze off the original chip and replace it by a tuning chip.
